Trooper.ai GPU Server Billing System Overview

Trooper.ai provides a flexible and transparent billing system designed to optimize GPU server usage and expenses through the James management system. Below is a clear summary to help you effectively manage your GPU resources and budget.

Billing Options

  • Billing Intervals: Choose from hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly intervals.

  • Auto-Renewal: Available exclusively for weekly, monthly, and yearly intervals.

    • When disabled, servers automatically transition to a frozen state at the end of the current payment period.
    • If enabled along with Auto Top-Up, your budget is automatically replenished to match upcoming fees.
  • Auto Top-Up:

    • Automatically refills your budget based on your selected payment method to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Prepaid Billing: You pay for the full billing interval (hour, day, week, or month) upfront. While payments are non-refundable, any unused time or amount can be credited towards upgrades or migrations.

Pricing Structure

Charges vary based on server status to maximize cost-efficiency:

  • Running Servers: Charged based on your selected billing interval (hourly, weekly, monthly, or yearly). Payments are charged upfront for the entire selected interval and are non-refundable.

  • Stopped Servers: Charged at 35% of the regular rate, as they continue occupying GPU resources and can be quickly started. The maximum duration for stopped servers occupying resources is currently 7 days and may change in the future; stopping servers should be used only in exceptional cases.

  • Frozen Servers: Charged at 10% of the regular rate, ideal for backup or load-balancing setups. Server restart depends on resource availability. NO GUARANTEED START.

  • Terminated Servers: No charges apply.

Servers with weekly, monthly or yearly contracts will not benefit from reduced pricing while stopped.

Data Transfer Allowance

Data transfer is included up to 5 TB per GPU per month. Additional traffic is billed at 7 EUR per TB. To protect our network and ensure consistent service for all users, we monitor data transfer usage. Upon exceeding this allowance, we will contact you to discuss options for bandwidth management or purchasing additional data transfer.

Port scans are strictly forbidden and will result in the termination of your machine!

Budget Management

  • The system regularly checks payment periods and automatically deducts charges from your prepaid budget.

  • To start multiple servers simultaneously, ensure your budget covers at least the next 24 hours of each server’s costs.

  • If your budget is insufficient, your server will transition from running to stopped, then frozen, and eventually terminated if funds are not replenished within 72 hours.

  • Servers that become out of balance with insufficient funds can be retroactively charged for up to 12 hours when funds become available again.

  • For monthly contracts terminated early, a partial credit may be provided based on regular server costs plus an early termination compensation fee. This credit will remain on your Trooper Pay account.

  • Budget on your Trooper Pay account cannot be withdrawn or refunded. It remains available exclusively for future Trooper.ai or Trooper Cloud services.

Payment Methods

Trooper.ai accepts multiple payment methods:

  • PayPal
  • Credit Card
  • SEPA (Direct Debit): Can take 5 to 10 days depending on your bank account and country.
  • Invoice (Wire Transfer): Classic invoicing via wire transfer is available for net amounts starting from 1,000.00 EUR. Please contact sales@trooper.ai for more details incl. full company address and VAT ID.

Resource and Budget Flow

As your budget decreases, your server will automatically transition through these states:

  • Running → Stopped → Frozen → Terminated

This gives you time to add funds. We’ll also send you warning emails, but it’s best to keep your budget in mind to avoid interruption or data loss.

For detailed information on each server state, please refer to our documentation: Blibs Status List

Time-based State Transitions

  • Paid Users: Receive warnings after 16 hours in the stopped state.
  • Free Trial Users: Servers automatically transition to frozen after 4 hours in the stopped state.

Minimum Initial Budget for Certain Blibs

A minimum initial budget may be required to create certain Blibs, particularly larger configurations like the InfinityAI 6x or 8x GPU Server Blibs. This requirement (e.g. 96 hours x €7.67 for an 8x) ensures resource availability during provisioning. Once the Blib is running, this initial amount is no longer reserved and is available for consumption.

Always consider your planned usage patterns – including stopping, freezing, or terminating and recreating – when managing your budget to account for associated costs.

Budget and Promotions

  • Budgets can be topped up from 10 EUR to 1000 EUR.
  • Regular promotional campaigns offer additional budget upon topping up specific amounts.
  • Regularly check the Trooper.ai website and your emails for current promotions.
  • Promotional offers and their benefits are transparently displayed during the payment process.

Notifications

Stay informed through automatic notifications about:

  • Budget depletion.
  • Server status changes (e.g., freezing, termination).
  • Consumption alerts for stopped servers that continue incurring charges.

Trooper.ai’s billing system provides flexibility, transparency, and efficient resource management tailored specifically to GPU server usage.
